‘Without the workers, nothing can be made’: Lakeshore Catholic in Port Colborne unveils new manufacturing hub

A new space at Lakeshore Catholic High School in Port Colborne is building the next generation of workers. 

A manufacturing lab was unveiled during a Tuesday event attended by industry professionals, area politicians and representatives from Niagara Catholic District School Board. 

The lab features three manual mills, six lathes and six welding booths - all built through a collaboration of the school board, Cappa College in Fort Erie, Oskam Steel in Port Colborne and Canadian Tooling & Machining Association.
