
Lauren Macsai has cherished her time running for Brock University. “I love the atmosphere of our team. We are so close and our coach (Kevin Moore) is so supportive and open to new ideas when it comes to training,” the 22-year-old Port Colborne resident said. “Seeing from where I started in my first year of eligibility to where I am at now and seeing us develop into the team we’ve become has been one of the greatest things. My coach is a great role model and I really like running for him. I have made so many friends on the team and racing is one of my favourite parts of the season.” The Lakeshore Catholic graduate, who is a two-time Brock Runner of the Year, is coming off a week were she was named Brock’s Female Athlete of the Week for her performance at the PGXC Race Series in Williamsville, N.Y. She won the five-kilometre race in course record time (18:23.8) and helped lead the women’s team to a first-place finish.
