Grade 10 Health & Physical Education

PPL2OF - Healthy Active Living - Female (Open):

This course emphasizes regular participation in a variety of enjoyable physical activities that promote lifelong healthy active living. Student learning will include the application of movement principles to refine skills; participation in a variety of activities that enhance personal competence, fitness, and health; examination of issues related to healthy sexuality, healthy eating, substance use and abuse; and the use of informed decision-making, conflict resolution, and social skills in making personal choices.
Course fee.

PPL2OM - Healthy Active Living - Male (Open):

PAF2OF - Personal and Fitness Activities - Fitness (Open):

This course emphasizes regular participation in a variety of enjoyable physical activities that promote lifelong healthy active living. Student learning will include the application of movement principles to refine skills; participation in a variety of activities that enhance personal competence, fitness, and health; examination of issues related to healthy eating, substance use and abuse; and the use of informed decision-making, conflict resolution, and social skills in making personal choices. This course focuses on aerobics and physical movement.

PAF2OW - Personal and Fitness Activities - Weight Training (Open):

This course emphasizes regular participation in a variety of enjoyable physical activities that promote lifelong healthy active living. Student learning will include the application of movement principles to refine skills; participation in a variety of activities that enhance personal competence, fitness, and health; examination of issues related to healthy eating, substance use and abuse; and the use of informed decision-making, conflict resolution, and social skills in making personal choices. This course focuses on aerobics and physical movement.

PAL2OH - Large Group Activities - Hockey Focus (Open):
This course emphasizes regular participation in ice hockey and development of skills, as well as fitness training. Student learning will include the application of movement principles to refine skills. This will be achieved through sport specific fitness training, 18-20 hours of on-ice instruction and various activities to enhance personal competence, fitness and health. The health component of the course will include examination of issues related to healthy sexuality, healthy eating, substance use and abuse, and the use of informed decision-making, conflict resolution and social skills in making personal choices.
Course fee.

PAL2OF Large Group Activities: Football Academy (Open):

The Grade 10 Football Academy course will be focused primarily on fundamental football skills, football history, positive decision-making and healthy living strategies. Physical fitness and sport-specific training will also be a part of everyday class expectations. Students will follow a training schedule and take on responsibilities to enhance their personal management and teamwork skills. This program incorporates Football Canada and Ontario Football Alliance elements designed for long term athletic development.
